Advisor / Consultant
A one-off engagement or retainer. We work through the problem together — I help find the solution, you implement it.
Discuss This FormatSometimes you don’t need a whole project — you need one conversation with someone who sees the full picture. A CTO choosing between three technology stacks and can’t decide. A director suspects the contractor is dragging out the project but can’t pinpoint where exactly the problem is. A company preparing a tender spec and wants to make sure they’re not missing anything critical.
A typical scenario: an executive calls with a specific question — say, “we’re being offered to replace the core system for $2M, is it worth it?” Over 2–3 hours of conversation it turns out that 80% of the needs can be addressed with an integration layer and a couple of modules on top of the existing system — for $200K and 3 months instead of 2 years. One consultation saved the company $1.8M and two years of risk.
I work as an independent expert — I don’t sell licenses, don’t represent vendors, don’t lock anyone into a platform. I recommend what solves the problem, not what I earn a commission on. This allows giving an honest assessment: sometimes the best advice is to do nothing, wait, or solve the problem organizationally rather than technically.
The format is flexible: a one-off session, a 1–2 week assessment, or a retainer — when you need regular expert support for decision-making. Every consultation ends with a written document: what was discussed, what decisions were made, what to do next. Not verbal promises — a concrete artifact you can work with.
When This Format Fits
When you need to get clarity on a situation, make a strategic decision, choose a technology stack, audit processes, or prepare a technical specification.
I analyze the situation, find the root problem, propose a solution, and help structure an action plan.
Implementation stays with the client or their team.
